The part-time Restaurant Server position at Renaissance Baton Rouge plays a vital role in maintaining the high quality of service that guests expect from this renowned hotel. Reporting directly to the Outlet Manager or Supervisor, the Server is responsible for delivering attentive, courteous, and efficient service throughout their shift. This includes thorough knowledge of the restaurant's organization, including lounges and room service, as well as a firm understanding of each job position within the food and beverage outlets. The Server must be knowledgeable about the menu and any current specials to effectively serve guests, offering recommendations and upselling promotional items to enhance the dining experience.
Primary duties involve taking and delivering food and beverage orders, pre-bussing tables by removing soiled dishes promptly after each course, and operating the POS system for accurate order entry and payment. The Server also handles cashiering functions, including closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork, and participates in opening and closing procedures as well as station-specific side work duties. Candidates must have the physical ability to stand for the entire shift and navigate the dining area carrying full trays of food and beverages. Additionally, holding valid ABC and RV permits is a mandatory requirement. The role demands consistent professionalism and exceptional guest interaction skills, as well as effective communication, including handling telephone calls according to established standards.

- previous food and beverage service experience preferred
- availability to work part-time hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- be familiar with the organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service and know the function of each job position
- have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets
- service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner
- pre-bus all tables removing soiled dishes after each course
- be familiar with the operation of the POS system
- perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork
- perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment and established checklist
- breakdown trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dish-room according to established standards
- answer the telephone according to standards
- consistently up-sell food, beverage and promotional items to guests
- receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment
