Job Description
Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG) is a people-first company that proudly operates as a large organization with the personalized feel of a small business. Founded in 2012, DRG began as a 30-unit Taco Bell business and has since expanded into a flourishing multi-brand operation with over 300 locations. The company operates Taco Bell restaurants in California, Kansas, Missouri, and Nevada, as well as Arby's restaurants in Alaska, California, and Nevada. Employing more than 9,000 team members, DRG is dedicated to continuous growth while fostering a work environment that feels like family. DRG places a strong emphasis on its core values and culture, ensuring that every employee is valued and supported throughout their career journey.
The General Manager (GM) role at DRG is instrumental in leading restaurant teams to success by mentoring, developing, and guiding a high-potential workforce. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth operational performance and delivering an exceptional customer experience while maximizing restaurant profitability. As a GM, you will play a critical role in recruitment, training, and oversight of food and service quality to uphold DRG's high standards. Additionally, the GM helps cultivate a positive company culture aligned with the group’s values, fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and fun. Reporting to the Area Coach and Director of Operations, this non-exempt role demands strong leadership, operational expertise, and financial acumen.
As a General Manager, your leadership touches every aspect of the restaurant's success, from enforcing policies and standards to creating world-class customer service experiences. You will manage financial performance by keeping costs low and profitability high, implement training programs focused on team growth, and serve as the vital connection between upper management and restaurant staff. Your influence shapes the team’s day-to-day operating excellence and long-term development, ensuring that both individual employees and the entire restaurant achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities extend to maintaining compliance with all company policies and local regulations, supporting DRG's reputation for quality and integrity.
This position also demands a flexible work schedule averaging 45 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with reliable transportation required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have a minimum of two years' experience in restaurant operations with demonstrated leadership skills. The GM must pass the SERV Safe Certification Course and maintain current health certifications as per local or state laws. This role offers the opportunity to be part of an expanding company culture that recognizes individual and team achievements through various employee programs. Joining DRG as a General Manager means becoming an essential member of a supportive company dedicated to growth, community, and hospitality excellence.
