The position begins with a comprehensive training class where candidates earn $15.00 per hour. After successfully completing dealer school, the hourly rate increases to a minimum of $22.50, with potential to earn more through tips based on guest interactions and performance. The role requires the dealer to learn various aspects of the gaming operations, such as opening the game at assigned tables, counting the contents and verifying them with closing lists, inspecting cards or dice, and signing off with supervisors. Additionally, dealers are responsible for handling payouts, exchanging currency for chips, explaining game rules to guests, and performing other duties as assigned to ensure smooth gaming experiences. The job is physically demanding, involving periods of standing or sitting for extended times, as well as dealing with bright lighting and high-energy environments. Candidates must be comfortable working in diverse shifts including weekends and holidays, emphasizing flexibility and commitment.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proficient in English verbal and written
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission, if applicable
  • Access to the vessel required

Job Duties

  • Learn how to open game at assigned table, count contents, verify count with closing list, inspect cards or dice and sign off with supervisor
