GDIT prides itself on being a military-friendly workplace and an award-winning organization that values its people at the core of its mission.

The role of Systems/Network Engineer Sr Principal at GDIT is a critical position that demands an experienced and seasoned network engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience, preferably with a background in the intelligence community. Candidates for this role are expected to demonstrate expertise in deploying, managing, and securing complex network environments, including proficiency with CISCO switches, routers, firewalls, Dell servers, and other network devices. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of network debug and analysis tools such as Wireshark and Tripwire, along with familiarity with advanced security appliances, including Palo Alto and High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) devices.

This senior-level position involves designing and developing network configurations, rack drawings, and diagrams, providing hands-on support for network security hardening, and working on Department of the Workforce environments to ensure network reliability and compliance. Key responsibilities also include supporting System Security Plan (SSP) development, conducting thorough network troubleshooting with a focus on connection issues, evaluating network traffic and message receiving functions, as well as physical network construction involving installation and maintenance of switches, fiber optics, cables, and security devices. The role requires proficiency with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence and demands a proactive approach to assess and support network design requirements, including tamper and concealment assessments.

Candidates must hold an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph and be U.S. citizens. The employment for this role is regular, with a competitive salary range typically between $148,750 and $201,250, though this may vary based on experience and geographic location. The role does not require travel and is designed to allow individuals to contribute both independently and collaboratively within focused teams.

GDIT provides extensive benefits and wellness programs, 401K with company match, paid time off, and other support mechanisms ensuring that engineers in this role receive comprehensive backing to succeed in their duties. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to national security by leveraging cutting-edge technology and expert network engineering skills to protect critical infrastructure across the intelligence and defense communities. Joining GDIT means being part of an organization where motivation, innovation, and operational excellence are paramount, and where employees are encouraged to advance their careers alongside peers equally passionate about making a difference in national security and technology solutions.
