Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer at Level 3 or Level 4 to join the Digital Engineering (DE) team focused on supporting the Digital Transformation within the Launch Systems business unit located in Chandler, Arizona. This role involves three primary systems roles: User Experience, Documentation Owner, and Core Systems Engineering. The Systems Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring program teams have the necessary tools and support to effectively execute their Digital Engineering products, implement intuitive methodologies, and lead usability studies to enhance tool and program experiences. Specifically, in the User Experience role, the engineer will develop and coach the use of descriptive models, assist users in completing tasks with the required fidelity, and drive continuous improvement and efficiency. Driving intuitive methodology includes aligning digital engineering capabilities with engineering tasks, promoting task-based templates, and simplifying user navigation to minimize effort in content updates. The engineer will also lead usability studies in collaboration with customers and product owners to further refine the tools and experiences.

In the Documentation Owner capacity, the candidate manages the change and configuration management processes for all documentation maintained by the Digital Engineering team. This includes identifying release scopes, approving changes, ensuring documentation quality and adherence to standards, and managing document releases with accurate revision history. In the Core Systems Engineering role, the engineer leverages the descriptive model to perform core systems engineering functions including managing activities and work products using agile/scrum methods, conducting requirements decomposition analyses, supporting system architecture and interface management, collaborating with program management and engineering teams, and preparing presentations for critical program milestone meetings. This position offers a competitive salary, ranging from $98,400 to $147,600 for Level 3 and $122,800 to $184,200 for Level 4, reflecting the scope and responsibilities of the role and candidate’s experience. The opportunity demands an onsite presence in Chandler, Arizona, with occasional travel of around 10 percent. Northrop Grumman supports employees with comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation or personal business. The company is committed to equal opportunity employment and fosters a nondiscriminatory workplace. Applicants must be U.S. citizens capable of obtaining a Secret Security Clearance.
