Currently, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a skilled Systems Engineer specialized in Integration and Test to join its team in Woodland Hills, CA. This role is pivotal in advancing the company’s mission-enabling solutions that provide critical advantages to defense and security customers worldwide. The Systems Engineer will collaborate within a dynamic Engineering and Sciences organization known for redefining engineering boundaries and driving science innovations across multiple disciplines.

The successful candidate will synthesize complex contractual and technical requirements into robust system test solutions that consider technical limitations, schedules, and cost constraints. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive test plans and strategies, automating test campaigns using scripting languages, coordinating integrated testing activities, and analyzing system-level performance using tools like MATLAB. Candidates will play an essential role in verifying embedded systems, navigation technology, and mission-critical computing systems.

This position offers two levels of employment opportunities: a base Systems Engineer role requiring a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field and at least two years of related test experience, and a Principal Systems Engineer role that demands more extensive experience, including mentoring, embedded software testing, and requirements analysis. All positions require an active or interim Secret-level US government security clearance, US citizenship, and the ability to work full-time onsite at the Woodland Hills location.

Salary ranges for this role reflect the candidate's experience and level, with competitive compensation packages ranging from approximately $91,800 to $171,000 annually. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
  • Related test experience of 2 years (Base level) or 5 years (Principal level)
  • Analytical coding capability
  • Experience with MATLAB
  • Systems engineering background or mindset
  • Experience developing and executing test plans and procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Level security clearance
  • US citizenship
  • Full-time onsite work capability in Woodland Hills, CA
  • For Principal level, experience in requirements analysis and mentoring

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related test experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university

Job Duties

  • Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints
  • Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems
  • Design formal qualification strategies to qualify new system designs using Microsoft Word, Excel, and DOORS
  • Use scripting knowledge to develop test scripts to automate test campaigns
  • Coordinate integrated testing activities
  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program
  • Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations
  • Assess performance of Navigation Systems and Mission Computers by analyzing data using MATLAB or similar software
