This permanent position is based out of Grand Haven, Michigan, offering a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $115,000 per year, along with comprehensive benefits provided directly to candidates upon an offer. The role is fully onsite, requiring the candidate to be located at the home office in Grand Haven or various customer sites throughout West Michigan. The work environment promotes teamwork, with a department consisting of 15-20 members, including administrators, engineers, developers, helpdesk, and office personnel. Candidates should expect to be onsite for three days per week at client locations and spend two days at the home office, with some flexibility for remote work as needed. Additionally, the role involves being on call one weekend every other month.
The position calls for a seasoned System Engineer with 5 to 10 years of strong experience, particularly in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments. The ideal candidate must have a solid foundation in VMware technologies and be skilled in scripting and automation to enhance operational efficiency. Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills are essential as a significant portion of the daily tasks involve direct interaction with clients. Besides core systems engineering expertise, candidates should have secondary experience in network administration, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewall management. Effective troubleshooting and a proactive approach to preventing technical issues are crucial to success in this role.
Additional desired qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, excellent communication skills, and relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or CompTIA A+. Experience in managed service provider (MSP) environments is not required but considered beneficial, and prior experience in manufacturing industries would be a significant asset. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to engage in a dynamic, client-focused environment while contributing to transformative technology solutions. TEKsystems values strategic thinkers and hands-on collaborators who can drive change, help customers capitalize on market changes, and master the momentum of technology within a supportive and progressive workplace culture.
