Operating across North America, Europe, and Asia, TEKsystems partners with over 6,000 customers, including 80% of the Fortune 500 companies, providing expertise in strategy, design, execution, and operations that unlock significant business value through innovative solutions. As a part of Allegis Group, TEKsystems brings together a dynamic team of 80,000 professionals driven by the power of true partnership — helping clients capitalize on change and master the momentum of technology. The company is committed to fostering an equitable workplace and is an equal opportunity employer, ensuring consideration of all applicants regardless of race, sex, age, color, religion, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any protected status by law.
The role of Systems Engineer II is an integral position within a healthcare client’s Technical Services team located in Fresno, CA. This permanent, hybrid role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong experience in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Microsoft 365 technologies. With a salary range of $105,664 to $134,451 per year, this role offers competitive compensation alongside a comprehensive benefits package including tuition reimbursement, professional development programs, scholarships, and a strong retirement plan with company matching.
In this position, the Systems Engineer II will play a pivotal role in managing enterprise systems and infrastructure projects that are central to the organization’s modernization initiatives. The engineer will design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure solutions spanning Windows, Linux, and AIX server environments. Responsibilities include administration of critical systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, ADFS, SSO, and PKI, as well as maintenance of file services, distributed file systems (DFS), and storage platforms. Additionally, the engineer will support Microsoft 365 technologies—taking ownership of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive—ensuring these tools are optimized and secure.
The role demands a solution-oriented mindset, strong analytical skills, and expertise in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. Active participation in server lifecycle management, patching, and upgrade initiatives will be expected, along with collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to successfully deliver technology solutions. Effective documentation and adherence to technical standards will underpin daily operations, enhancing system reliability and knowledge sharing.
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience supporting enterprise Windows Server environments and deep knowledge of Active Directory administration is essential. Additionally, candidates must have hands-on expertise with IAM technologies—including Active Directory, ADFS, Entra ID (Azure AD), SSO, and PKI—and have a solid grasp of file services and storage system support. Strong troubleshooting and systems administration capabilities are also critical for success in this role.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Linux and/or AIX administration, Exchange Server and Exchange Online management, Microsoft Teams administration, SharePoint Online and OneDrive, Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and involvement in Microsoft 365 migration projects. Soft skills highly valued include being a self-starter able to work independently, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, meticulous documentation practices, and a strategic approach to designing and supporting solutions from inception through production.
The work environment offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule, generally following standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexible start times. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Fresno, CA, and participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every nine weeks. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact by contributing to enterprise modernization and cloud transformation initiatives within a collaborative and forward-thinking healthcare organization.
