Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton is a leading management and technology consulting firm known for its extensive work with the U.S. government, including defense, intelligence, and civil sectors. Established over a century ago, Booz Allen has continually evolved, harnessing advanced technologies and strategic insights to deliver innovative solutions that address complex challenges. As a company, Booz Allen prioritizes a people-first culture that encourages collaboration, continuous learning, and diversity. It offers a comprehensive array of services ranging from cybersecurity, analytics, and digital solutions to engineering and mission support. Booz Allen is committed to supporting employees through robust professional development programs, competitive compensation, and extensive benefits.

This role focuses on serving the critical needs of the U.S. Navy by providing expert systems engineering capabilities. As a Systems Engineer at Booz Allen, you will bridge the gap between naval warfare operations and technological development. Your main responsibility is to act as a primary liaison integrating operational knowledge with technical solutions for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, specifically relating to submarine forces. The role centers on ensuring that submarine Command and Control (C2) requirements, fleet operational needs, and platform constraints are meticulously incorporated throughout the Global Command and Control System - Maritime (GCCS-M) software lifecycle. This position requires not only deep technical expertise but also an ability to understand and translate fleet operators’ real-world operational needs into viable engineering requirements and innovative solutions.

You will collaborate closely with fleet operators, acquisition stakeholders, and software developers, providing operational and technical expertise to influence software development and system integration. You will be essential in ensuring that GCCS-M capabilities effectively support submarine missions, facilitating mission planning, combat systems employment, and tactical operations. The role affords opportunities to impact U.S. naval missions by contributing to software that protects national security interests. Given the dynamic nature of defense operations, the job expects flexibility, including the possibility of travel up to 25% of the time and working across diverse teams.

Booz Allen offers a work model that can vary based on role and organizational needs, supporting remote, hybrid, or onsite arrangements, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams. The company emphasizes ethical practices, including its policy around the responsible use of AI in the hiring process, and enforces strict security clearance requirements to protect sensitive information. With an annual salary range from $86,900 to $198,000, the position offers competitive compensation reflective of the candidate’s education, skills, and experience.
