Job Description
Touchmark is a distinguished organization dedicated to enriching the daily lives of its residents through a steadfast commitment to excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion — encapsulated in its core values under the acronym ETHIC. With a comprehensive approach that ranges from personal caregiving to maintaining physical environments, Touchmark fosters a culture of meaningful service and community engagement. Operating across multiple states, Touchmark serves over 3,000 employees who contribute to its mission of creating warm, vibrant living experiences for its residents. The company cultivates an inclusive and supportive work environment embodying the motto: I am an ally, I am a friend, I am a giver. This motto reflects the spirit of collaboration and empathy that permeates every facet of the organization, laying the foundation for its success and commitment to quality care and operational excellence.
The role of Systems Engineer at Touchmark is a pivotal position responsible for supporting and evolving the enterprise infrastructure across distributed locations. This role demands a highly skilled professional to design, implement, and maintain physical, virtual, and cloud-based IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. As a Systems Engineer, you will be central to infrastructure modernization initiatives, spearheading automation efforts and driving the adoption of scalable cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure. You will oversee various critical components including Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
Your responsibilities will involve managing complex enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring seamless LAN/WAN architecture, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN technologies. A key part of your role includes strengthening infrastructure security by enforcing system hardening, patching, and applying HIPAA-compliant controls to meet regulatory standards. You will implement and manage identity services like Active Directory and Entra ID, alongside DNS, DHCP, and certificate management services, crucial for maintaining secure and efficient operations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are vital, as you will work closely with network, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver resilient infrastructure solutions. You will champion operational excellence by leveraging observability tools, incident response strategies, and robust backup and disaster recovery plans with clearly defined RTO and RPO targets. Your automation expertise using tools such as PowerShell and Python will drive enhanced efficiency and agility across infrastructure and network operations. The ideal candidate will bring 5–7+ years of hands-on experience, coupled with technical certifications and preferably exposure to healthcare or regulated environments. Joining Touchmark means becoming part of an organization that values safety, compassion, and proactive ownership in every task, truly making a difference in the lives of those it serves.
