This role centers on providing specialized expertise in the company’s Weight and Balance program and system, ensuring all operations comply with aircraft manuals, engineering data, and operational mandates. It focuses on maintaining adherence to aircraft operational and structural limitations according to company and Boeing manuals. The incumbent will use their comprehensive ground operations background to oversee and optimize the performance of relevant operational systems, contributing directly to efficient day-to-day airport and ground execution activities. The position offers a dynamic environment that engages with various internal departments such as IT, Flight Operations, Safety, and Quality Assurance, supporting multiple teams including Global Command Center, Loadmasters, and Scheduling. Key responsibilities involve administrative oversight of ground operations programs, monthly auditing for compliance, training development, system support, and coordination of both planned and unplanned system updates or outages.
As a critical liaison within the organization, this role requires close collaboration and communication with other departments to address operational challenges and provide subject matter expertise related to weight and balance concerns. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- At least 3 years of aviation operations, scheduling or logistics experience
- In-depth knowledge of electronic weight and balance systems
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent prioritization and multitasking capabilities
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Proficiency with office and specialized computer applications
Job Qualifications
- High school degree required
- college degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience
- 3 years of relevant aviation experience in operations, scheduling, Loadmaster and logistics sectors required
- Possess excellent working knowledge of the Electronic Weight and Balance system
- Aircraft weight and balance certification preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to work effectively with others in a teamwork environment
- Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Office program application experience and intermediate to advanced computer skills and other specialized applications
Job Duties
- Make appropriate entries into the weight and balance application in compliance with the weight and balance manual and from engineering data for day-to-day operation
- Update and maintain training module for the training application in compliance with the weight and balance manual for day-to-day operation
- Support updates to the scheduling application in compliance with company scheduling requirements for day-to-day operation
- Provide monthly audits of various aircraft types within external and internal systems
- maintain monthly audits for the archive process
- Provide administration of all Ground Operations Programs including Weight and Balance program, Veoci, training program, catering and scheduling programs
- Interface and ensure a close working relationship with other company departments for SABLE and other system related items
- Provide support to Global Command Center, ground coordinators, Loadmasters, Special Loads, Standards and Procedures, Training, and Scheduling teams as requested
- Supports management to ensure administrative activities for the department are documented and maintained accurately
- Administrative duties in the Ground Operations Veoci program including membership, form/workflow creation, training, and departmental interfaces
- Ensure safe and reliable execution of the company’s systems for Ground Operations requirements
- Monitor and maximize efficiency of application utilization
- Provide support and coverage for the hotline as per schedule
- Provide support to Ground Operations Supervisor/Manager on escalated complex issues
- Develop and create ad-hoc training for special projects
- Attend customer and vendor meetings as SME regarding weight and balance questions, limitations, and configurations
- Apply ground operations knowledge to test and evaluate system functionality
- Provide support for special projects as required
- Provide alerts for planned or unplanned application outages
- Perform additional duties as assigned
