The role in focus is centered on the Weight and Balance program, essential for ensuring all aircraft operations adhere to strict safety and compliance standards set forth by company and manufacturer manuals, specifically Boeing’s specifications. This position involves providing expert oversight and administration across various related systems that support Ground Operations, including Weight and Balance, training modules, scheduling applications, and other operational tools. The ideal candidate will use their extensive aviation knowledge and operational expertise to maintain and audit compliance, enhance system functionality, and support cross-department collaboration with IT, Flight Operations, QA/QC, Safety, and more.

Responsibilities include daily system data entries, updating training resources, conducting monthly audits, and supporting Ground Operations teams with specialized knowledge for operational efficiency and problem resolution. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient system usage while driving continuous improvements in application features and user experience. The candidate will also act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for weight and balance issues, contribute to special projects and training creation, participate in customer and vendor meetings, and provide system outage alerts and support on escalated situations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 7 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in aviation operations, logistics, or scheduling
  • Proficient knowledge of electronic weight and balance systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate within diverse teams
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel as necessary
  • Proficiency in computer and office software applications

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree required
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant aviation experience in operations, scheduling, Loadmaster and logistics sectors
  • Excellent working knowledge of electronic weight and balance system
  • Aircraft weight and balance certification preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a teamwork environment
  • Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including office program applications and specialized software

Job Duties

  • Make appropriate entries into the weight and balance application in compliance with the weight and balance manual and engineering data for day-to-day operation
  • Update and maintain training module for the training application in compliance with the weight and balance manual
  • Support updates to the scheduling application in compliance with company scheduling requirements
  • Provide monthly audits of various aircraft types within external and internal systems and maintain monthly audit archives
  • Provide administration of all Ground Operations programs including Weight and Balance, Veoci, training, catering, and scheduling programs
  • Interface and maintain close relationships with other company departments such as IT, Flight Operations, QA/QC, Safety for system-related issues
  • Provide support to Global Command Center, ground coordinators, Loadmasters, and other teams with subject matter expertise for CG issues and system functionalities
  • Support management in documenting and maintaining administrative activities for the department
  • Conduct administrative duties in the Ground Operations Veoci program including membership and workflow creation
  • Ensure safe and reliable execution of company systems for Ground Operations requirements
  • Monitor and maximize efficiency of application utilization and identify bug fixes and improvements
  • Provide support and coverage for the hotline as scheduled
  • Assist Ground Operations Supervisor/Manager on escalated complex issues
  • Develop and deliver ad-hoc training for special projects
  • Attend customer and vendor meetings to act as SME on weight and balance questions and limitations
  • Test and evaluate ground operations systems for feedback on functionality
  • Support special projects and provide alerts for application outages
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
