Located in Madison, Wisconsin, Flad’s Madison office is hiring a Systems Administrator to play a critical role in maintaining the firm’s IT infrastructure, supporting their technical systems, and ensuring the seamless operation of the firm’s digital resources. The Systems Administrator also plays a vital role in supporting critical internal systems such as Microsoft 365 services, building security systems, and software licensing frameworks to maximize reliability and security. The role offers hands-on interaction with technologies like Windows server hardware, Hyper-V virtualization platforms, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and sophisticated software deployment tools.
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing Microsoft 365 accounts and email systems, performing system administration for assigned infrastructure, and coordinating vendor relationships. The role also demands the installation, testing, deployment, and upgrading of Windows servers and associated software configurations. The Systems Administrator will conduct troubleshooting, participate in technical support duties, and handle scheduled rotations for help desk support. The ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and adapt to evolving technical requirements is essential. The position requires working on-site in Madison from Tuesday through Thursday during standard business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., which supports the company’s hybrid work model.

Job Requirements
- Minimum one year of relevant systems support experience required
- Minimum one year of experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and Microsoft Windows 11 operating system required
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other standard office applications required
- Minimum two-year technology degree required
- Minimum one year of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting IP computing devices on a TCP/IP network required
- Experience with Powershell scripting, automation methods, InTune policies and GPOs required
- Availability during Flad business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Must be able to work in Madison office Tuesday through Thursday each week
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two-year technology degree
- Minimum one year of relevant systems support experience
- Minimum one year of experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and Microsoft Windows 11 operating system
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other similar standard office applications
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe desktop publishing/design applications preferred
- Experience with Powershell scripting, automation methods, InTune policies and GPOs
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with clients, consultants, and team members
- Skilled at working well within a team environment, with people at all levels of an organization
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem-solve and resolve client issues while providing a quality, personable experience
- Available to work in Madison office Tuesday through Thursday each week during business hours
Job Duties
- Maintain and manage Microsoft 365 services and related processes
- Perform system administration for all assigned systems, manage vendor relationships, and maintain the security and integrity of systems and backups
- Assist in managing system administration for infrastructure systems such as building security, Microsoft systems infrastructure, and software licensing systems
- Assist in the evaluation, research, and implementation of Windows server-based technologies
- Oversee the installation, configuration, testing, deployment, upgrading, management, and documentation of Windows server hardware, Hyper-V, and software configurations to maximize security, reliability, and minimize vulnerabilities
- Perform overall administration of Flad collaboration systems, such as Microsoft 365 email and account maintenance, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
- Manage the installation, support and updates of software applications and Windows Server operating systems
- Participate in technical support on troubleshooting problems and standard software applications
- Perform scheduled rotation of routine technical support duties (help desk and pager)
