The position of Systems Administrator III is a senior-level technical analyst role within the KP HealthConnect Specialties team at Kaiser Permanente. You will analyze clinical and business operations, user preferences, and prioritize system changes and updates. The role serves as a liaison among end users, third-party vendors, and Epic implementation teams, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.

The Systems Administrator III contributes to developing and documenting procedures for Epic application use and collects information to prepare enhancement specifications, analyzes new software releases, and conducts thorough testing. This role faces unique challenges like balancing clinical and technical needs, driving continuous improvement, and supporting system stability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems including applications, network, databases, storage, and security.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years’ experience with Epic or comparable health system software or scripting/programming expertise, alongside a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Healthcare, or related fields. Equivalent experience can substitute for educational requirements. The role demands proactive self-development, effective communication, and collaboration skills, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met efficiently. The Systems Administrator III also provides first and second-level support, diagnoses and resolves complex incidents, escalates issues appropriately, and participates in system installations, upgrades, decommissioning, and vendor support activities.
