The role of Systems Administrator at GDIT is an opportunity to join a team that plays a critical part in supporting the nation's safety and security through the maintenance and management of high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This position focuses on network management and systems administration to uphold the efficiency and reliability of the Agency's HPC infrastructure and its development environment. The Systems Administrator acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for handling complex Linux-based systems, automating deployment processes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with stringent security standards such as Security+ certification and SYS1 access requirements. With a salary range of $202,300 to $273,700 depending on experience and location, this is a senior-level position requiring substantial technical expertise and more than 15 years of relevant experience.

As a Systems Administrator at GDIT, you will leverage your deep knowledge of Linux command-line interfaces, scripting languages like Bash and Python, and enterprise-scale systems to install, configure, and maintain commercial, government-owned, and open-source software on large Linux clusters. You will oversee technologies such as Network Appliance clustered servers, Fiber Channel storage, and virtualization platforms like VMware ESXi. Furthermore, your role includes using Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning and patching across physical and virtual environments and applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with automation tools such as Ansible and SaltStack. Experience in managing corporate security policies and procedures, as well as participating in System Security Plan (SSP) accreditation processes, is essential.

The Systems Administrator will also work with software tools used for big data analysis and monitoring like Splunk and Elastic Stack, as well as network and system monitoring utilities including HPE OneView and Nagios. Desired experience includes containerization with Docker, hardware sanitization according to government policies, backup systems management, and security software such as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
