Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or related bachelor's degree preferred
  • three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet
  • ServSafe certification
  • strong leadership ability
  • ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, and customers
  • experience in menu development, food cost control, and staff management

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • bachelor's degree in food services technology, management, or related field preferred
  • three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training
  • experience with planning and managing catering events from a culinary perspective
  • strong leadership skills
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends
  • proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, email, and internet
  • effective communication skills across various levels
  • ServSafe certification

Job Duties

  • Develop high culinary standards for retail, board meals, dining, and catering operations
  • train, develop, and provide inspirational leadership to local culinary team
  • lead corporate social responsibility, food seasonality, health/wellness, and culinary arts initiatives on campus
  • analyze ongoing performance and trends in the local operation and devise and lead improvements
  • demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers
  • manage menu development, inventory, purchasing, food cost controls
  • oversee staff management and development
