Job Requirements

  • minimum 7 years of relevant experience in senior living including 3 years in leadership
  • strong culinary skills
  • acf or cia certification preferred
  • knowledge of operations, food safety, and regulatory requirements
  • proven leadership, communication, and time-management skills
  • ability to learn and use culinary technology tools
  • ability to stand for long periods and work in high-heat environments
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • occasional travel for training or broader support

Job Duties

  • create balanced, high-quality meals for elderly residents
  • maintain consistent quality, presentation, and adherence to menus
  • utilize batch cooking and incorporate fresh, creative ideas
  • oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety standards
  • lead, train, and supervise culinary staff
  • recognize performance and support development
  • manage team meetings, daily huddles, and staff records
  • maintain an organized, efficient, and clean kitchen environment
  • prepare and serve meals on time with proper temperature and presentation
  • accommodate dietary restrictions and foster a positive, resident-focused atmosphere
  • provide server coverage when needed
  • meet food and labor cost targets and monitor performance metrics
  • maintain proper inventory levels and plan food quantities for upcoming meals
  • partner closely with kitchen staff, servers, and leadership
  • communicate clearly and professionally about staffing and operational needs
  • build strong relationships with residents and client partners
  • stay current with regional culinary trends and support community-based sourcing
  • collaborate with culinary leadership and supply chain partners on sourcing strategies
  • attend all required training and support staff development
  • ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
  • assist with daily kitchen functions and act as Dining Supervisor when needed
  • contribute to a warm, home-like dining environment
