This opportunity is for a full-time, permanent System Engineer position based onsite in Grand Haven, Michigan. The role is focused on providing technical support and general system engineering for a diverse range of clients. The System Engineer will play a crucial part in maintaining and optimizing key IT infrastructures, specializing in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments. The position also demands skills in network administration, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewall management, though these are secondary to core system engineering responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and preventing IT issues. Experience in hardware, software, and remote technical support is essential to provide comprehensive client service. The role requires effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage directly with clients and internal teams, fostering a collaborative work environment. This job is predominantly onsite at the home office located in Grand Haven or various customer sites throughout West Michigan. The team comprises administrators, engineers, developers, helpdesk staff, and other office personnel. The work schedule includes an on-call rotation, typically one weekend every other month. The salary range for this position is from $90,000 to $115,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package provided upon offer.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred
- minimum of 3 years of experience in system engineering or IT support roles
- proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
- familiarity with network administration including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewall configuration
- strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- willingness to work onsite in Grand Haven, MI
- ability to participate in an on-call rotation one weekend every other month
