With over 26,000 experts operating in more than 50 countries worldwide, GDIT specializes in providing innovative capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development. The company is committed to empowering its workforce and supporting the mission of national security agencies, ensuring that its technology solutions create immediate value and address the complex challenges faced by government and defense organizations. GDIT is known for its culture of innovation, commitment to military-friendly employment, and comprehensive employee support and growth programs.

The System Engineer role at GDIT offers a remarkable opportunity to significantly impact the nation’s safety and security by protecting critical infrastructure against emerging threats. This position involves serving as the technical lead responsible for planning, deploying, and maintaining the Delinea Tools Suite across the organization’s Linux environments. The System Engineer plays a vital role in translating security and operational requirements into effective privileged access management and secrets management solutions, which are crucial for safeguarding sensitive data and operational integrity.

In this role, you will lead deployment strategies that align with the broader mission architecture of the organization, ensuring your solutions are seamlessly integrated and scalable for future expansion. You will be tasked with developing and maintaining thorough documentation to support system sustainment, audits, and continuous improvement efforts. Ideal candidates for this position will have over 20 years of related experience and a Bachelor of Science degree, paired with an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph. Hands-on experience with various Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Rocky Linux, CentOS, and Ubuntu is required, along with solid competency in command-line interface usage, system administration, and automation scripting using Bash or Python. Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles, API-driven integrations, containerization technologies like Docker and Podman, and cybersecurity compliance frameworks strengthens your ability to deliver on mission objectives.

Candidates will also need to demonstrate expertise in integrating Linux systems with authentication and directory services, such as LDAP, Active Directory, and FreeIPA, plus an understanding of privileged access management (PAM) solutions and least-privilege security principles. Familiarity with Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence, as well as experience in compliance-driven environments adhering to standards like STIGs, NIST, and ISO, is highly desirable.

This role is a Regular, full-time position with a competitive salary range between $193,800 and $262,200, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual agreements. GDIT also offers a comprehensive benefits package, an AI-powered career growth tool, and a supportive internal mobility team to help you achieve your career aspirations.

Joining GDIT as a System Engineer means contributing to a mission that matters, working alongside dedicated colleagues in a culture that values innovation, diversity, and continuous development.
