Job Requirements
- Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade
- three years of full-time, paid cooking experience in a large scale institutional environment using standardized recipes
- or education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade
- one year of full-time, paid experience as a Food Services Worker II with the School District of Philadelphia
- or education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade
- successful completion of accredited college level coursework

Job Duties
- Supervises a crew of food services workers
- determines work assignments, work methods and production goals
- reviews work in progress
- prepares and cooks the daily breakfast, lunch and after school meals following prescribed menus and standardized recipes
- portions and serves food to children and adults
- orders food, produce and supplies using automated ordering system
- records market quotations and other ordering information as required
- receives deliveries and checks the accuracy of delivery slips
- maintains records of deliveries and prepares a weekly invoice record of orders received
- takes a monthly inventory of food and supplies on hand and maintains a perpetual inventory system
- sorts and counts bills and coins received daily
- prepares a daily deposit slip and weekly cash card listing amounts of money deposited and amounts on hand
- prepares weekly operations, monthly milk and platter, and time and attendance reports
- may clean service or preparation areas
- removes trash from kitchen area
