Job Description
Securitas is a premier global security company dedicated to providing comprehensive security services that protect homes, workplaces, and communities. With a rich legacy of safeguarding assets and ensuring safety for people across various industries, Securitas stands as a trusted partner committed to helping businesses and individuals maintain their operational integrity and peace of mind. The company's mission is rooted in shielding clients' assets, protecting their personnel, and ensuring continuous profitability through top-tier security solutions. Securitas is distinguished not only by its extensive experience but also by its core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness, which guide every interaction between the company, its customers, and the community.
Integrity at Securitas means complete honesty and trustworthiness, with an open channel for communication and transparency. Vigilance represents the attentive and proactive stance that employees take to detect any potential risks or incidents. Helpfulness underscores the commitment of the workforce to assist promptly in any situation, irrespective of its direct connection to their duties. These values form the foundation for a culture dedicated to excellence in the security industry.
The role of Security Supervisor at Securitas is a critical leadership position focused on overseeing the performance and operations of Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other staff assigned to client sites. This role requires ensuring strict compliance with post orders, executing scheduled patrols, and managing incident reports while maintaining excellent communication with clients and relevant authorities in emergency circumstances. The supervisor is responsible for coaching, disciplining, and training personnel to uphold high standards of security and customer service, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safety and professionalism.
Additionally, the role involves administrative tasks including submitting payroll and personnel information and ensuring adequate staffing at all posts. The Security Supervisor performs regular inspections, provides clear guidance on assignments, and actively engages with client representatives to confirm that security requirements are met optimally. Supervisory duties extend to recruitment, orientation, performance management, and addressing workplace challenges positively.
Security Supervisors may also occasionally perform frontline Security Officer duties themselves in accordance with post orders and company policies. This role demands the ability to work under pressure, multitask, interact at various social levels, and maintain composure in dynamic and sometimes stressful environments. It is essential to have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, an understanding of security operational practices, safety devices, and the regulatory environment governing security personnel.
Candidates with at least a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience, preferably including retail experience, are ideal for this position. Licensure requirements vary by state, and the ability to meet ongoing licensing criteria is necessary. The physical demands include frequent walking, standing, sitting, occasional lifting, and the ability to respond to incidents both mentally and physically. The position also entails the use of basic computer skills and effective communication abilities.
Joining Securitas means becoming part of a diverse team sharing a common purpose: to provide security that enables clients to operate safely and successfully. The company offers competitive benefits, including retirement plans, employer-provided medical and dental coverage, company-paid life insurance, voluntary life and disability insurance, an employee assistance program, a discount program, paid holidays, and paid time off. Some employees may have access to earned wages before payday. Securitas is an Equal Opportunity Employer embracing diversity and inclusivity across its workforce, continuously striving for excellence in the security services field.
