ABM is a leading global provider of facility services and solutions, recognized for its commitment to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. Founded in 1909, ABM has grown to serve over 20,000 clients worldwide, offering a broad spectrum of services that include janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy solutions, HVAC and mechanical services, landscape management, and mission-critical solutions. The company operates through more than 350 offices across the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, with a robust workforce of over 100,000 team members. With annualized revenues approaching $8 billion, ABM is a powerhouse in the facility services industry, supporting a diverse range of clients from various sectors including commercial office buildings, airports, universities, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, entertainment venues, and more. ABM’s comprehensive approach and innovative solutions make it a driving force in improving the spaces and places that matter most to businesses and communities alike.
The role of Janitorial Supervisor at ABM is a pivotal position focused on managing and overseeing janitorial operations within designated client sites. This hourly position offers competitive pay rates ranging from $25 per hour for first and second shifts to $26 per hour for the third shift, with the exact offer contingent upon the applicant’s experience, skills, location, and schedule alignment. As a Janitorial Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the janitorial team, ensuring the achievement of performance goals and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will directly impact client relationships and service delivery, as you act as the main point of contact for client liaisons, regularly engaging to ensure that quality standards are consistently met and any service issues are resolved promptly.
In this role, you will play an essential part in fostering a positive and proactive work environment, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, and adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. You will also be responsible for training staff on ABM’s standard and any specialized cleaning methods required by specific clients, as well as guiding them in the safe operation of cleaning equipment such as buffers and scrubbers. An important aspect of your supervisory duties includes planning and assigning work schedules, managing employee timekeeping, and arranging for necessary staff substitutions to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery.
Moreover, the Janitorial Supervisor is expected to uphold strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information and company processes. Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to give effective presentations to small and large groups are crucial for success in this role. Being a resourceful team player with a positive attitude and approachable demeanor will help you inspire and develop your team, ensuring solid staff retention and continuous improvement. The role also offers administrative responsibilities that enhance operational efficiency and opportunities to contribute to business growth by identifying additional billable projects for new or existing clients.
ABM prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The company supports reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and is committed to hiring veterans and military personnel, providing world-class training and meaningful career opportunities. By joining ABM as a Janitorial Supervisor, you become part of a reputable organization that values its employees and clients, promotes safety and sustainability, and offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports your well-being and career advancement.
