Job Description
ABM (NYSE: ABM) is a global leader in facility services and solutions, recognized for its commitment to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments. With a history dating back to 1909, ABM provides a diverse range of essential services including janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy solutions, HVAC and mechanical maintenance, landscaping, and mission critical services. Serving over 20,000 clients and employing more than 100,000 team members across 350+ offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, ABM stands as a trusted partner for businesses spanning various industries such as commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues.
The role of Janitorial Supervisor at ABM is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing janitorial projects and supervising daily team operations at assigned sites. The supervisor ensures that performance goals and client service standards are met consistently. This position offers an hourly pay range of $25/hr for first and second shifts, and $26/hr for third shift, with actual offers varying based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and schedule alignment. The Janitorial Supervisor acts as the primary liaison between ABM and its clients, maintaining strong client relationships and addressing service issues promptly with a dedicated focus on customer satisfaction.
This role demands proactive leadership, including planning and assigning work schedules, managing emergency and off-hour support, and promoting a culture of safety by training staff in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe cleaning practices. The supervisor is charged with ensuring timely responses to client emergencies, training staff on cleaning protocols, security measures, and the proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals according to OSHA standards. Furthermore, the role involves monitoring employee timekeeping for compliance, facilitating teamwork and productivity, and looking for opportunities to increase revenue by offering additional billable project work.
The Janitorial Supervisor position also includes administrative responsibilities such as managing staff substitutions during absences and overseeing janitorial and porter teams to maintain quality service delivery. Efficiency, attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in MS Office applications and a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record to operate company vehicles. This position requires at least two years of supervisory experience, preferably within the commercial cleaning industry, and a high school diploma or GED.
Working at ABM offers the chance to be part of a respected and stable company that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. As an employer committed to supporting individuals with disabilities and veterans, ABM provides a supportive working environment with a comprehensive benefits package. The company’s dedication to continuous improvement and sustainability further enhances its reputation as a leader in the facility services sector. Candidates who join ABM as Janitorial Supervisors will benefit from a world-class training program, opportunities for career advancement, and a collaborative workplace culture that emphasizes safety, professionalism, and excellence.
