Job Description

Sushi Roller is a vibrant and innovative dining establishment focused on delivering exceptional sushi experiences to its guests. Now part of The Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG), Sushi Roller benefits from being associated with a company that prides itself on its commitment to hospitality as a lifestyle and a family-oriented culture. IRHG was founded in 2009 by Steve Palmer and has grown to operate over 30 locations, emphasizing community, internal growth, and placing its employees at the center of its success. Known for fostering a work environment where people come first, IRHG continuously works to reshape the hospitality industry with heart and integrity.

The role of Sushi Roller is critically important to maintaining the high quality and authenticity of the restaurant’s sushi offerings. This position calls for a talented, passionate, and creative individual who demonstrates skill and finesse in the art of sushi preparation. The successful Sushi Roller candidate will handle a variety of tasks, including delicately slicing fish and expertly assembling each piece to create an unforgettable taste experience. There is a strong emphasis on quality control, with each sushi piece needing to meet exacting standards in portion size, presentation, and freshness.

Besides culinary expertise, the role requires adherence to strict cleanliness and safety standards, following guidelines set by DHEC regulations. Responsibilities also include maintaining the workstation, closing kitchen duties, and training team members on sushi preparation and plating procedures. This ensures that all outputs consistently meet the brand's elevated standards day in and day out.

Sushi Roller is offered as a full-time position within the hospitality group, featuring a competitive salary designed to attract top talent. Moreover, candidates joining the team are eligible for a $1,000 signing bonus: $500 after completing 90 days of employment and an additional $500 after six months. This bonus is part of IRHG’s strong commitment to supporting its employees and valuing their contributions from the very start.

Joining Sushi Roller means becoming part of a fast-paced and rewarding work environment where teamwork and positive energy are highly valued. Employees are encouraged to assist fellow staff members and develop their skills within an empowered team setting. The job demands a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting.

Overall, this role offers a compelling opportunity for a culinary professional passionate about sushi and hospitality to thrive and grow within a company well-known for its supportive culture and promising career trajectory. Candidates who appreciate working in a family-like environment that prioritizes employee well-being and professional development are encouraged to apply. IRHG’s equal opportunity employment policy further ensures a fair and inclusive workplace, making it an excellent choice for those seeking long-term employment in the hospitality sector.
