This particular role at Wegmans is a full-time opportunity based in Canandaigua, NY, with a competitive pay range of $17.50 to $18.00 per hour. The position requires availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekends, with shifts potentially starting as early as 5am. As a sushi chef team member at Wegmans, you will be integral to the preparation of fresh, high-quality sushi rolls and other Japanese cuisine specialties. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the slicing of fish, cutting vegetables, making sushi rice, and assembling various sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. You will work alongside experienced sushi chefs, gaining valuable hands-on experience and mastering traditional sushi-making techniques. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards is essential to this role.
