The Sushi Chef role at JOEY Restaurants is a vital position that directly contributes to the company’s success by crafting a consistent, world-class sushi product under the demand of a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role encompasses preparing all sushi menu items with detail-oriented precision, leaning on culinary creativity and efficiency. As a sushi chef, you will be expected to work collaboratively with other kitchen stations and maintain clean, sanitary, and organized prep and cooking areas. Job Duties

  • Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards
  • utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure quick, precise creation of menu items according to JOEY recipes
  • wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, and other cooking methods
  • coordinate with other stations as needed
  • maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner
  • clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas
  • complete assigned side work and closing duties
  • stock, clean, and organize line stations
  • follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
  • report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately
  • follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures
