Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a sushi cook or in food preparation
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi making techniques
- Ability to use knives safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience with sushi or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of sushi and sashimi preparation, knife skills, and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Creativity and attention to detail in food presentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi and sashimi dishes according to traditional Japanese techniques and our restaurant's recipes
- Select high-quality fish and ingredients, ensuring freshness and safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to applicable health and safety policies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff
- Provide excellent customer service, including interacting with guests and taking special requests
