Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a sushi cook or in food preparation
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi making techniques
  • Ability to use knives safely and effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with sushi or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of sushi and sashimi preparation, knife skills, and food safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Creativity and attention to detail in food presentation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present a variety of sushi and sashimi dishes according to traditional Japanese techniques and our restaurant's recipes
  • Select high-quality fish and ingredients, ensuring freshness and safety
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to applicable health and safety policies
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff
  • Provide excellent customer service, including interacting with guests and taking special requests
