Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise cutting and assembling of sushi
- Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 pounds
- Work in a potentially hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
- Occasional pushing and pulling to move equipment
- Tolerance for moderate-to-high noise levels in kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience as a sushi cook or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques
- Strong knife skills and precision in handling raw fish and other ingredients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Job Duties
- Prepare high-quality sushi dishes by established recipes and standards
- Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Handle, slice, and present fish and other ingredients with precision and attention to detail
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient and organized workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients
- Uphold food safety regulations and practices
- Perform other duties as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the team and organization
