The Sushi Cook position at Resorts World Las Vegas supports the esteemed sushi chefs and works across multiple kitchen stations to ensure top-quality sushi preparation. This role is integral to the operations of the kitchen team, involving product inventory management and adherence to food safety regulations. The Sushi Cook will prepare sushi items in alignment with the resort's high standards, contributing to the overall dining experience guests expect at a luxury resort setting. This is a dynamic role requiring skill, flexibility, and dedication to quality. The position may require working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the resort's busy schedule. As part of this role, team members must prioritize safety, security, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction, reflecting the resort's core responsibilities. This position is ideal for a culinary professional with at least one year of sushi-making experience in fine dining or similar environments, a strong understanding of Asian culinary techniques, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

Job Requirements

  • At least one year of sushi making experience in a full service, fine dining restaurants or similar environment
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Position required licenses, SNHD health card

Job Qualifications

  • Compatible knife skills
  • Ability to translate recipes into dishes
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous experience in international Asian cooking
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field or training
  • Previous experience in a large, luxury resort setting

Job Duties

  • Preparation of food according to restaurant recipes and/or guests' requests
  • Assist multiple stations with food prep, cooking and plating (e.g. Sauté, Fry/Steam, Garde Manger, wok etc.), when needed
  • Maintain the highest level of food presentation and quality
  • Adhere to all SNHD health code regulations and standards
  • Maintain food and supply inventory and notify management of restocking requirements
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
