Job Description
Located on the iconic Sunset Strip, The Sun Rose West Hollywood is a newly rebranded, independent, award-winning hotel and a proud member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The property features 149 guest rooms and suites, a signature rooftop poolside restaurant by renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, a full-service spa, and an intimate live music venue. Nestled on the former House of Blues site, The Sun Rose is crafting its next great chapter with a guest experience rooted deeply in innovative design, cultural expression, and a vibrant sense of place. Delivering an experience that is magnetic, quietly bold, and unmistakably West Hollywood, the hotel integrates a fusion of luxury accommodation and local art, making it a destination both for locals and visitors seeking a distinctive atmosphere with high-end amenities and top-tier service.
The role available is an intimate Omakase culinary position that is much more than a traditional kitchen role; it’s a front-of-house and back-of-house hybrid where direct interaction with guests is a critical component. Serving exclusive guests in an intimate setting two to three times each evening, the role demands a professional who can lead with positivity and maintain the highest standard of guest experience in a fine dining environment. This position requires someone with traditional sushi training who is skilled in the art of breaking down and portioning whole fish, and crafting nigiri, while simultaneously being adaptable to using innovative, nontraditional techniques to deliver a memorable 17-course tasting menu. This position offers a salary range of $21.05 per hour, with eligibility for tips and a combined guaranteed minimum annual earning of $75,000 including the service charge. The Sun Rose West Hollywood is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, encourages candidates with varied experiences to apply, and respects and values U.S. military background in qualified candidates. This position requires working primarily during evenings, weekends, and holidays, embracing a flexible schedule to meet the demands of an exceptional Omakase experience.
