This role invites individuals to join the team as a Sushi Cook within Tao Group Hospitality. The position focuses on ensuring the quality, consistency, and precise execution of all sushi and food items prepared. It requires interaction with colleagues and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure a hospitable environment. The Sushi Cook must uphold the professional appearance standards outlined by the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook and actively anticipate and accommodate guest needs. A strong understanding and strict adherence to allergy and dietary restriction protocols, as well as food safety and sanitation standards mandated by the Department of Health and company policies, is essential.

The Sushi Cook's duties involve managing the sushi station and kitchen cleanliness, following correct food handling procedures, completing opening and closing side work, and communicating supply needs to chefs and support staff. The role demands thorough knowledge of assigned recipes and the ability to execute them to company standards, along with a general awareness of the venue to support team and operational efficiency. The position is fast-paced and requires flexibility in schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include the ability to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, and perform repetitive motions in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Training for this position is comprehensive, including in-venue sushi cook training and mandatory Food Handling Certification. Previous sushi culinary experience and a background working in high-volume culinary operations are preferred. The Sushi Cook must exhibit teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude, contributing to the vibrant and collaborative culture found at Tao Group Hospitality. Job Requirements

  • must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time

  • ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • must have completed Tao Group Hospitality in-venue sushi cook training and food handling certification
  • must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

Job Qualifications

  • previous sushi culinary experience preferred
  • experience as a sushi cook in a high-volume culinary operation preferred

Job Duties

  • maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the employee handbook
