The role offered is a full-time, non-management culinary position located directly at the Tampa Marriott Water Street hotel. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to grow their skills through both hands-on experience and an online training partnership with the Rouxbe culinary school. This collaboration allows Marriott culinary associates at all experience levels to access hundreds of well-designed, visually engaging online lessons aimed at enhancing their culinary knowledge and practical abilities. The responsibilities of this culinary associate role encompass a range of tasks, including preparing special meals or substitutions, regulating cooking equipment temperatures, thawing food properly, ensuring correct portioning and food presentation, maintaining accurate food records, and monitoring food quality and quantity. Job Duties

  • Prepare special meals or substitute products
  • regulate the temperature of ovens, grills, and roasters
  • thaw food properly by removing it from the freezer and refrigeration
  • ensure correct portioning, distribution, and dressing of food

  • monitor food quality and quantity prepared
  • communicate necessary assistance during busy periods
  • report excess food products to the head chef for daily specials
