The Sushi Clerk role at Hy-Vee plays an essential part in the Hy-Chi Department, a specialty food area known for offering fresh, high-quality Asian cuisine including sushi and Chinese Express items. This non-exempt position reports to various supervisory roles such as the District Store Director, Store Manager, and Department Managers, emphasizing its integral function within the store's operations. The primary duties include filling customer orders accurately and efficiently, handling food safely, ordering and receiving products, as well as labeling, dating, and properly storing inventory. The Sushi Clerk ensures all food products meet Hy-Vee's standards for freshness and appearance while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Job Requirements

  • able to work in fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions

  • assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading/unloading heavy items, passing along customer suggestions

  • ensures adequate food supply and follows production list
  • prepares and replenishes product as necessary
  • pulls product from cooler/freezer for preparation

  • washes dishes as necessary
