As part of the distinguished hospitality group originating from Austin, Texas, Uchiko Denver promises a unique dining experience combining creativity, dedication to craft, and a deep respect for the art of Japanese cooking. Hai Hospitality is known for its multi-concept approach including renowned brands such as Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro, all of which emphasize excellent hospitality and community involvement. The team takes pride in their strong work ethic, creativity, and passion for delivering memorable guest experiences. Uchiko Denver is preparing to open its doors with highly skilled Sushi Chefs who will uphold these values while contributing their expertise to the dynamic culinary environment.
In the Sushi Chef role at Uchiko Denver, individuals will embark on an exciting career path starting with a training orientation slated for January 2026. This role is designed for both seasoned sushi professionals and passionate individuals eager to learn the craft. Sushi Chefs will immerse themselves in the menu, special offerings, and the nuances of Japanese cuisine while perfecting their sushi techniques under the mentorship of expert chefs. The restaurant values innovation and collaboration, encouraging team members to contribute to the evolving menu and the specials page, enhancing the culinary experience for all guests. This position offers competitive compensation that combines a base hourly pay with tips, making it a lucrative opportunity for dedicated individuals. Post training, Sushi Chefs can expect to earn daily tips averaging between $50 and $200 depending on service volume, leading to estimated total hourly earnings between $28 and $48.
The role is fast-paced and demands a high level of initiative, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. Candidates should thrive in a dynamic kitchen environment, be open to feedback, and maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with guests at the sushi bar are essential, providing an opportunity to build rapport, explain dishes, and create an engaging dining experience. Uchiko Denver is committed to continual learning and internal growth, making this role appealing to those who want to develop their skills and grow within a supportive and innovative hospitality group. This position also comes with various benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance options for eligible employees, an employee assistance program that offers mental health services, employer-matched 401(k) plans, dining discounts, and ample opportunities for career advancement.
