Operated by Hai Hospitality, a celebrated multi-concept restaurant group based in Austin, Texas, Uchi Miami offers guests a unique dining atmosphere with carefully curated dishes that emphasize fresh ingredients and innovative flavors. Hai Hospitality is recognized for its dedication to hospitality, creativity, and its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. The company’s philosophy revolves around giving back, nurturing employee growth, and creating memorable experiences for every guest. With concepts like Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro, Hai Hospitality has made a significant impact in the restaurant industry across multiple states, including Arizona and Florida, where they actively participate in E-Verify to support legal employment practices.
As a Sushi Chef at Uchi Miami, you will play an essential role in the culinary team, contributing to the creation and presentation of traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes. This is a gainful employment opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $25 to $30 per hour. Sushi Chefs are paramount in maintaining the high standards Uchi is known for, including meticulous sushi preparation, handling of fresh ingredients, and delivering excellent guest interactions at the sushi bar. The role offers excellent career growth opportunities through ongoing learning and skill development under the mentorship of skilled Chef teams. Sushi Chefs at Uchi Miami also have the chance to collaborate in menu development, helping to craft innovative specials that reflect the restaurant’s evolving culinary vision.
Working as a Sushi Chef requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The position encourages a team-oriented mindset combined with humility, positivity, and proactive problem-solving skills. Candidates should be comfortable engaging with guests to explain dishes and take orders while ensuring a welcoming environment and an unforgettable dining experience. This role demands physical stamina, the ability to stand for long periods, and safe handling of kitchen equipment and ingredients to ensure quality and safety standards are always met. Uchi Miami offers a workplace culture that values continuous learning, feedback, humor, and emotional intelligence, ensuring that employees not only develop professionally but also enjoy their work environment.
In addition to a competitive salary, Uchi Miami provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options. Employees have access to mental health services through the Employee Assistance Program, and there is an employer-matched 401k savings plan to support long-term financial well-being. The company culture prioritizes promoting from within, offering employees clear opportunities for growth and advancement. Dining discounts further enhance the employee experience, making Uchi Miami an attractive place to work for individuals passionate about culinary arts and Japanese cuisine. Hai Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and fosters an inclusive environment, ensuring all employees feel valued and empowered to contribute to the restaurant’s ongoing success.
