Panda's mission is to deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering an organization where employees are inspired to improve their lives. This commitment is deeply embedded in their culture, emphasizing core values such as being proactive, mutual respect with a win-win mindset, growth, great operations, and giving back to the community. Panda Restaurant Group invites passionate individuals to join their team nationwide, with opportunities available in restaurants and the Rosemead, CA support center. The company offers a robust career path from entry-level roles to management positions and a competitive compensation package, including a pay range of $22 to $26 per hour depending on experience and location.
The Sushi Chef role at Panda Inn in Glendale represents a unique opportunity for experienced culinary professionals seeking a fast-paced yet refined work environment. This position demands creativity, precision, and a passion for Asian cuisine, especially Japanese sushi. Sushi Chefs at Panda are responsible for preparing a variety of sushi dishes, including intricate rolls and fresh fish preparations, and have the chance to innovate by creating new dishes, sauces, and presentation styles. Cleanliness and organizational skills are paramount to maintain a sanitary and efficient workspace. Panda emphasizes professional growth, offering paid training, ongoing career development, and leadership opportunities to empower Sushi Chefs to thrive and advance. The work environment requires stamina and agility due to standing for extended periods, working with kitchen tools, handling up to 50 pounds of weight, and managing multiple tasks under pressure. Besides culinary skills, exceptional customer service, communication, and upselling abilities are essential to succeed in this role. Full-time associates receive comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, associate discounts, and more.
