Job Requirements

  • No education required
  • between 1 and more than 3 years of culinary experience
  • having or ability to obtain valid local and/or state food handling permits
  • ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, bend, reach, stretch frequently, perform repetitive manual tasks, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare all ingredients and food products to complete prep lists, meet minimum and optimal inventory levels or PAR, and follow rotation standards and recipes
  • Use various preparation and cooking methods to ensure quick and accurate creation of sushi menu dishes according to JOEY recipes
  • coordinate with other stations when necessary
  • Maintain clean, hygienic, and safe preparation and cooking areas
  • Clean, organize, and maintain proper functioning of refrigerators, refrigerated drawers, ovens, preparation and dry storage areas
  • Perform assigned opening, closing, and any additional tasks to support kitchen team success
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe use of kitchen equipment and cleaning products
  • Report any equipment or maintenance failures to management immediately
  • Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures
