Job Description

Uchiko, situated in the vibrant locale of Miami Beach, is a newly opened extension of the highly acclaimed Uchi restaurant brand. Uchiko is the brainchild of James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole, who is celebrated for his innovative and non-traditional approach to Japanese cuisine. The restaurant offers a distinctive culinary experience that builds upon Uchi's reputation by incorporating robust smoky and charred flavors alongside the signature fresh and clean tastes that have delighted guests at Uchi. As part of the Hai Hospitality group, Uchiko benefits from being linked to an esteemed family of restaurant concepts which include Uchi, Uchiba, and Loro across multiple cities such as Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Miami, LA, and Scottsdale. With its roots deeply embedded in culinary excellence and cultural flavors, Uchiko stands out as a leader in the contemporary Japanese dining scene.

In the role of Sushi Chef at Uchiko Miami Beach, you will become a vital team member responsible for enriching the dining experience through expert culinary skills and exceptional guest interactions. This hourly position includes an average compensation of around $25 per hour, which combines base pay with tips, making it an attractive opportunity for culinary professionals specializing in Japanese cuisine, specifically sushi. Your primary duties will extend beyond just preparing sushi; you will engage directly with guests at the sushi bar, take orders, explain menu items, and foster a welcoming atmosphere that enhances guest satisfaction. You will gain the opportunity to learn multiple sushi stations, gradually increasing your knowledge and skill set. Collaboration is highly encouraged, with the chance to contribute creatively to both the specials menu and core offerings. The work environment is fast-paced and guest-focused, suited for those with prior experience in a high-volume sushi kitchen. Uchiko Miami Beach offers a supportive environment where growth and professional development are highly valued, supported by excellent benefits and unique cultural opportunities within the Hai Hospitality group.
