In the role of Sushi Chef, candidates will find an exciting opportunity to contribute to and learn from a high-volume, high-standard scratch kitchen environment. This position is perfect for experienced sushi chefs who are enthusiastic about food and hospitality and who wish to be part of a team committed to excellence and innovation. Sushi Chefs at Hai Hospitality enjoy an average hourly wage of $25, which includes base pay and tips. Additionally, the company offers a $1,250 sign-on bonus payable after completing 90 days of training. Long-term growth opportunities are robust, with a strong emphasis placed on internal promotion. Sushi Chefs will be responsible for motivating, mentoring, and developing culinary team members, as well as managing overall culinary standards, ensuring the delivery of exceptional sushi and related dishes. Job Requirements
- Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
- Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards
- Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
- Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements
- Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces
- Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs
- Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area
- Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors
- Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming
- Understand directives and communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers

Job Duties
- Motivate, mentor and develop a culinary team comprised of sushi chefs
- Manage the overall culinary standards in a high volume high standard scratch kitchen
- Deliver innovative and high-quality sushi preparations consistently
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the sushi station
- Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient kitchen operations
- Provide constructive feedback and celebrate team successes
- Adhere to health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
