This position is suitable for both experienced sushi chefs and individuals without prior experience in Japanese cuisine, as comprehensive training will be provided. The sushi chef’s primary responsibility is to rapidly and precisely roll maki while demonstrating a thorough understanding of the menu. Working efficiently alongside others on the sushi line is essential, as is maintaining a clean and inviting workspace since sushi chefs prepare food in full view of guests.
Additional responsibilities include preparing sushi rice, breaking down fish, and performing various other tasks to support the kitchen’s smooth operation. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting weights regularly and have some proficiency with knives. Flexibility is required, with shifts including day, night, and weekend availability.
