The Sushi Chef position at RA Sushi Mesa is a vital role responsible for preparing sushi dishes and sauces in alignment with the restaurant's high-quality food preparation standards and operational procedures. This role involves direct interaction with guests, primarily working in front of them at the sushi bar to craft visually appealing and delicious sushi offerings. Job Requirements

  • Must successfully pass the Company sushi chef training program and cooking procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in sushi preparation preferred
  • Culinary degree a plus
  • Approved food handling training as required by local laws
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and guest service orientation

Job Duties

  • Prepare sauces and sushi items according to restaurant guidelines
  • Work at the sushi bar engaging with guests and ensuring an inviting experience
  • Monitor food portioning and maintain food quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar and equipment
  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival to the sushi bar/lounges area
  • Perform shift opening and closing duties including cleaning and organizing
  • Follow food handling, safety, and sanitation standards
