Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, Chef De Cuisine, and Owner/Executive Chef, the Sushi Chef will play a critical role in preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet the restaurant’s exacting standards. This role requires not only technical skill in sushi preparation but a thorough understanding and appreciation of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques. The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, ambitious, and reliable, capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining calm and composure. A strong sense of urgency paired with a great sense of humor, honesty, and integrity are essential qualities. The position demands the ability to work long hours on their feet, lift and carry necessary items, and show flexibility by working various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed. The Sushi Chef will also be responsible for setting up and breaking down sushi stations, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout service, and continuously improving their food knowledge and technical abilities.
