Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a sushi chef or in a similar culinary role is preferred, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety standards accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality, consistency, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare sushi and related menu items according to recipes, presentation standards and specifications
  • Follow allergy precaution procedures carefully, including preventing cross-contamination and handling guest allergy requests with accuracy
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, labeled, rotated, handled safely, and prepared with attention to quality and detail
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in the sushi bar, prep areas, coolers, and kitchen workstations throughout the shift
  • Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines at all times, including proper handwashing, temperature control, safe food handling, and equipment sanitation
  • Work closely with kitchen team members, leadership, and front-of-house staff to support timely, efficient, and high-quality service
  • Assist with daily prep lists, inventory counts, product rotation, stocking, and ordering needs for sushi ingredients and related supplies
  • Provide friendly, professional guest interaction when working in guest-facing areas, while representing the restaurant with hospitality, confidence, and care
