We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team at our Beaverton location at 2545 SW Cedar Hills Blvd. This role offers competitive wages ranging from $18 to $22 per hour, with the potential for earnings up to $27 per hour including tips. Employment is part-time, with team members working around 25 hours or more per week, entitled to a robust benefits package including health and life insurance, paid vacation time starting at two weeks per year, and a 401(k) plan with company matching. As a Sushi Chef at Bamboo Sushi, you will collaborate closely with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to prepare fresh, aesthetically pleasing sushi that delights our guests and encourages repeat visits. You will have opportunities to develop and refine your skills across three specialized stations: the Roll Station where you will focus on vegetable preparation, rice perfection, and rolling techniques; the Front Station which emphasizes fish butchering, nigiri crafting, omakase creation, and direct guest interaction at the sushi bar; and the Wheel Station tasked with coordinating orders and crafting sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi flawlessly. This role combines creativity, precision, and teamwork in a lively restaurant setting where attention to detail and commitment to food safety and cleanliness are paramount.
The work environment at Bamboo Sushi is fast-paced and energetic, requiring physical stamina to move throughout the kitchen, handle tools skillfully, and taste the products to maintain the highest quality standards. We value team players who maintain neat workspaces, uphold organized food handling processes, and contribute positively to the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere. Experience in high-volume or guest-facing kitchen roles is beneficial, and formal culinary training or 1-2 years of related culinary experience is preferred for this position.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of culinary experience or formal training preferred
- Ability to work Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Physical ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment
