As the Sushi Chef, you will be entrusted with complete responsibility for every plate served to our customers as well as the strategic direction of our sushi menu. This crucial role requires you to drive innovation and refinement in menu development to ensure that the offerings are not only creative and high-quality but also aligned with the restaurant's profitability goals. You will oversee the entire food preparation process, manage inventory by planning and ordering ingredients and equipment efficiently, and arrange for timely kitchen repairs when necessary. Leveraging your expertise with profit and loss statements, you will manage costs effectively to meet budgetary requirements.
In addition to operational duties, the role involves significant leadership responsibilities including hiring, supervising, and training kitchen staff. You will coach employees on maintaining consistency, improving technique, and enhancing their culinary skill sets while creating an environment that fosters cooperation, collaboration, and mutual respect. Job Requirements
- culinary degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 3 years experience as a sushi chef
- skills in menu development and cost management
- ability to lead and train a kitchen team
- knowledge of food safety regulations
- capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
- strong attention to detail
