The company operates numerous stores and prides itself on a long-standing tradition of community involvement, employee ownership, and a mission focused on running the best store in town. Food City values its associates highly, considering them its greatest asset, and offers a dynamic work environment where individuals can grow and develop their careers. With flexible schedules designed to promote work-life balance and a strong culture of giving back, Food City stands out as an employer dedicated to both its customers and employees. The company also fosters a sense of pride among its employees by including them as shareholders through an employee stock ownership plan, which aligns the interests of associates with the company's success. The store located at 6951 Lee Highway in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is part of this wider network and maintains these core values within its operations.

The Sushi Chef role at Food City is a key position responsible for producing fresh sushi as part of the in-store sushi program. This role is highly interactive, as it involves direct communication with customers during sushi preparation and frequent sampling events. The ideal candidate will be friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable, able to engage customers while maintaining a clean, organized workspace since sushi is prepared in view of patrons. The job requires preparing and handling various finfish, shellfish, and fresh produce items, ensuring food safety standards are strictly adhered to, and overseeing the assembly, packaging, and labeling of sushi products. Additionally, the chef will prepare custom sushi rolls to meet customer preferences and support inventory management by assisting with supply ordering. An important facet of this role involves training other associates when needed, upholding high product quality standards, and effectively promoting the Food City sushi program through active marketing and sampling. Maintaining thorough records and complying with all relevant food safety regulations at federal, state, and local levels is essential. This position offers an engaging work environment where customer satisfaction and product excellence are top priorities, making it an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about sushi and customer interaction.
