Job Description

The Sushi Chef will work primarily in a restaurant setting, contributing to a medium-sized kitchen team of 4-7 members. The role involves preparing both traditional and fusion sushi dishes with a focus on quality, presentation, and safety. Although the position requires minimal customer interaction, the Sushi Chef plays a key behind-the-scenes role in delivering an exceptional dining experience through meticulous food preparation and collaboration.

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about Japanese cuisine and eager to develop their skills in sushi preparation. Working within a busy kitchen environment, the Sushi Chef must maintain high standards of hygiene and comply with all safety regulations. This role offers valuable experience in culinary arts, especially in the specialized area of sushi making, and allows for creative expression while adhering to traditional techniques. Team collaboration is critical, as the Sushi Chef will work closely with other kitchen members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation that upholds the restaurant's reputation for quality food and excellent service.

Candidates will engage in preparing a variety of sushi dishes, from classic nigiri and sashimi to innovative fusion rolls, focusing on both taste and visual appeal. The position requires an eye for detail, strong time management skills, and a commitment to upholding stringent food safety protocols. The Sushi Chef will also be responsible for conducting quality checks on ingredients and finished products to ensure consistency and freshness.

This role is well suited for entry-level culinary professionals or individuals with a foundational knowledge of sushi making who are looking to expand their expertise in a supportive and dynamic kitchen environment.
