Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as a sushi chef or similar role preferred
  • Ability to multitask
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain consistent speed
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Knowledge of menu items and cooking techniques including safe use of knives and kitchen equipment
  • Reliable with good attendance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Flexibility to work full-time or part-time as needed

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and keep a consistent fast tempo
  • Must have a good and positive attitude
  • Must have good understanding of menu and cooking methods such as using knives stove fryer steamer and oven
  • Must be reliable and have a good attendance record
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to follow all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to function in the primary chef secondary chef and sushi end stations

Job Duties

  • Operate in the sushi bar and/or back of the house ensuring food is prepared safely effectively and according to specifications and requests
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete
  • Follow recipes including measuring ingredients weighing and mixing ingredients
  • Bake grill steam boil fry and chop meat seafood fruits vegetables and grains
  • Present and garnish final dishes so they are visually attractive
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Contribute to stocking ordering and purchasing of ingredients ensuring necessary ingredients are fresh and minimize spoilage waste by communicating with Head Sushi Chef
  • Communicate any issues with kitchen equipment utensils or other supplies to Head Sushi Chef
  • Handle and store different types of ingredients appropriately
  • Maintain food and safety sanitation standards policies and procedures
  • Assist serving staff as needed
  • Assist other kitchen staff as needed
  • Clean outside of kitchen such as dining room as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
