The position of Sushi Chef at RA Sushi is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to quality and guest satisfaction. The Sushi Chef plays a critical role in preparing sauces and sushi items following the restaurant's precise food preparation and service guidelines. This role is primarily guest-facing, where chefs work right in front of the sushi bar, engaging with guests and contributing to a fun and inviting dining experience. The Sushi Chef is responsible for monitoring food portions, ensuring compliance with quality and presentation standards, and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar and associated equipment. This role requires culinary skill, attention to detail, and a great sense of hospitality, making it essential to the overall guest experience at RA Sushi.

Sushi Chefs at RA Sushi are expected to greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival at the sushi bar or lounge area. They may also prepare a variety of ingredients such as meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables using a range of kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers. Guest interaction is a key element, requiring chefs to respond promptly and courteously to requests and to provide guests with detailed information about menu items. Ensuring that guests are satisfied with the quality of the food and service is a top priority, and chefs are responsible for handling food safely, adhering to sanitation standards, and following precise cooking procedures.

Additional duties include performing opening and closing shift tasks such as cleaning cutting boards, kitchen equipment, and floors. The Sushi Chef must strictly follow company standards related to food portioning, cooking methods, quality, and safety protocols. Maintaining an organized and sanitary kitchen and sushi bar environment is critical, as is promptly reporting any equipment or maintenance issues to the management team. The role also involves adhering to company guidelines on food presentation and properly handling raw foods with utmost care to ensure guests' health and safety. Furthermore, the Sushi Chef assists in creating a memorable dining atmosphere by participating in guest celebrations and may be asked to engage in photo opportunities with guests to enhance the overall experience.

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival to the sushi bar or lounge area
  • prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
  • respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and provide information about food
  • ensure guests are satisfied with food quality and service
  • perform shift opening and closing duties including cleaning neta cases, cutting boards, equipment and floors
  • maintain kitchen, cooking areas, sushi counters, kitchen equipment, refrigeration units and food storage areas clean, sanitary and organized
  • adhere to company guidelines on proper food presentation and garnishes for all dishes
