This establishment is dedicated to sustainability and ethical sourcing, making it a leader among sushi restaurants that prioritize both quality and social responsibility.
As a part-time Sushi Chef at Bamboo Sushi, you will join a dynamic team focused on delivering fresh, innovative sushi menu items and an unforgettable customer experience. This position offers wages between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour, with tips bringing the potential earnings up to $27.00 per hour. The role includes excellent benefits such as health and life insurance, vacation accrual up to two weeks annually, 401(k) options, employee discounts, and opportunities for career advancement and continued education within the company.
The Sushi Chef role is integral to Bamboo Sushi’s mission and involves hands-on work in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant environment. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety and sanitation standards while upholding company policies. The position requires knowledge of Japanese cuisine and beverages, along with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development. In this role, Sushi Chefs rotate through three key workstations to develop comprehensive skills in sushi preparation. The roll case focuses on vegetable preparation, making sushi rice, and mastering sushi rolls. The front case involves fish breakdown, understanding fish cuts, preparing nigiri and sashimi, curating omakase experiences, and engaging with guests at the sushi bar. The wheel station prioritizes organizing orders and efficiently producing rolls, nigiri, and sashimi to meet timely service standards.
Bamboo Sushi places a strong emphasis on its inclusive and diverse culture. The company values respect for all employees, guests, partners, and community members, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. They are committed to equal pay, equal rights, and equal opportunity for advancement for all individuals. This commitment creates a meaningful workplace culture where innovation, respect, and collaboration are encouraged every day.
Working at Bamboo Sushi involves physical and sensory demands, including maneuvering in a busy restaurant space, operating various pieces of restaurant and office equipment, working in a loud and distracting environment, and distinguishing different flavors. Employees must be capable of effective communication with guests and coworkers to maintain smooth operations in the vibrant restaurant setting.
